Glad to read that our havartis make an excellent grown-up grilled cheese! We'll have to give some of your suggestions a try- I see several that would hit the spot on this cold afternoon. Cheers!

I remember being fed a grilled cheese with strawberry jam at a neighbours house in Petawawa, Ontario. Didn't really think much of it at the age of 8, but it has stayed with me as a delicious way to enjoy grilled cheese! These days also enjoy tallegio with a homemade tomato bruschetta, mmmmmm!
